10 Killer Steps To Sell Back End products To Existing Customers
Welcome to BizPremi, taking you through this journey, is Adegbola valentine.
In business, the main purpose is to make profits. I stand corrected. I mean why calling it business, if you are not gaining something in return. Or if you are not making profit.
Then it should be called a charitable organization, if it’s not profit inclined.
Now, if you’re running a business, or you are into a business, and you have never sold back end products to your existing customer, or don’t even know what it is. Then you are missing out big time. I mean. you should, you are supposed to.
A QUICK ONE:
I’m going to be using you as the example here. Now imagine you want to buy a product from a service provider, or a vendor. Giving that, you have never bought anything at all from that vendor, or that you have never had any transactional deal with this so called vendor. Won’t you be skeptical at first?
Of course you will be. You have not bought anything previously before, you don’t know this person. Which is why in business selling to new customers is much more difficult than selling to existing customers.
Now, What Are The Killer Steps To Sell Back End Products To Existing Customers
- Insert a flyer or brochure for your back-end product in the package, when you deliver to people the first product they bought.
- Give customers a free subscription to a customers only e-zine when they buy your product. You could include your ad for your back-end product in each issue.
- Send your customers greeting cards on holidays or on their birthday. Include a small advertisement inside the card for your back-end product.
- After people order your first product from your web site, take them to a “thank you” web page and include your back-end product ad on that page.
- Send customers a free surprise gift after they order your first product. You could attach another ad with the free gift for your back-end product.
- If you’re selling an electronic product, like an ebook, include your ad for your back-end product somewhere inside the electronic product.
- Give your customers a free membership into your “customers only” private site. You could include your ad for your back-end product somewhere inside the private site.
- Contact your customers by phone and ask them if they were happy with their purchase. You could tell them about your back-end product.
- Send your customers a thank you letter by mail or e-mail. You could mention your back-end product somewhere on the letter.
- Ask your customers if they want to be updated in the future when you have new product offers. You could have them sign up to receive e-mail or snail mail updates.
Your business will have a greater chance of surviving when you attempt to sell back-end products to your existing customers.
Final Notes:
When I said selling to new customers is much more difficult than selling to existing customers above, don’t get the wrong idea. selling to new customers is great. as it grows your brand or business.
So what am I saying? all am saying is as you are pushing hard to sell to new customers, don’t neglect your existing. Because the efforts you are putting to sell to new customers, which sometimes may not turn up, is way lesser when compared to existing customers.
Now go all in in targeting your old/existing customers, and go sell something to them.
And that would be all for this article. If however, you still don’t understand, or you tried it and it worked. However the case may be, don’t forget to come drop a comment. Until next time.
